URGENT NEED FOR PERSONAL HYGIENE KITS FOR HAITI!

The recent earthquake has created a great need for personal hygiene kits, and the current supply will be quickly exhausted.  We are requesting individuals and community organizations to assemble kits in the weeks ahead.

Each kit should include:
  • 1 hand towel (15" x 25" up to 17" x 27")
  • 1 washcloth
  • 1 comb (large and sturdy, not pocket-sized)
  • 1 nail file (no fingernail clippers, emery boards or toenail clippers)
  • 1 bath-size bar of soap (3 oz. and up)
  • 1 toothbrush (single brushes only in original wrapper)
  • 6 adhesive plastic strip sterile bandages
PLEASE NOTE: You no longer need to include toothpaste in the Hygiene Kits because the Sager Brown depot (where the kits are stored before being shipped to Haiti) is now purchasing toothpaste in bulk to be added to health kits before shipping to ensure that the product does not expire before they are sent.

All items must be NEW.  Place items inside a sealed one-gallon plastic bag.
Important: Please do not include any religious, political or patriotic notes or emblems in any kit.

You may drop off completed kits AND individual items for kits at the Broad St. UMC, 74 N. Broad St., Norwich

Join our John 10:10 Challenge Team!

We believe health care is a basic human right, and we support the United Methodist Call for Health Care Reform.  By joining our Team, you can discover ways to become actively involved in the challenge to make sure every person has access to basic health care, and to the Abundant Life that God desires for all people.

We are a mission-minded church

We are always looking for new ways to bring the light of Christ and the love of God to our brothers and sisters in Norwich and around the world.

We invite you to join us in our efforts.  Click here for more information about how you can serve God and your neighbors through our ministries and mission projects.

What if church wasn't just a building?  What if church wasn't just someplace we GO, but something we DO?  As United Methodists, we are challenged to show kindness, acceptance, and hospitality to everyone - guests and members alike. Part of that challenge means asking, "How can we rethink church as more of an out-of-building 365-days-a-year experience, where anyone seeking may find a spiritual journey they can call their own?"

We invite you to join us on this journey to RETHINK CHURCH and to discover the joy of something deeper: a faith to believe in and to live for.

Children are always welcome in worship!

Our Children's Worship Center provides activities for children to use during the worship service, including story books, children's Bibles, and tote bags full of crayons, stickers, children's worship bulletins and activity sheets.
